JDF specializes in building supercharged alcohol high performance engines for both pulling and drag racing applications.  We do not build assembly line style engines with each one utilizing identical components.  Each engine is custom built for both its intended application and it’s owner’s racing style.  We believe that in order to build the right engine for each customer, it is important to understand what the customer’s expectations are for his or her racing operation.  For instance, some people like to run their engines on the edge and have no problem with the expense and / or the time required to maintain an engine being run at this extreme level of performance.  Of course, these are going to be the engines that provide the highest power output, but also require more money and time to maintain.  On the other hand, some people are looking for an engine that will provide very good power, but not require enormous amounts of maintenance.  These engines are “de-tuned” to a certain extent, depending on how “soft” the customer wants to run them, and are less expensive to run. 

As a racing engine builder it would be great to build every engine to produce the absolute maximum horsepower possible no matter what the cost or required maintenance.  However, we realize this is not what every customer wants or needs.
